I don’t think they’re crazy, I just think they’re subject to a whole range of different psychological factors, which can affect us all.

That said, one psychological factor you overlooked is their propensity not to believe something just because Authority told them they should. Many are staunch individualists who don’t believe things just because people on TV say they should.
